The daily maintenance of rising stem gate valves mainly includes the following aspects:

Cleaning and lubrication: Use detergent and soft cloth to clean the outer surface and interior of the valve to ensure that the valve is dust-free and oil-free. Apply lubricating oil or fat on the valve bearing and sealing surface to ensure the flexibility and sealing of the valve.

Storage and maintenance:

Store the valves in an orderly manner, small valves on the shelves, and large valves neatly arranged on the floor of the warehouse to avoid random stacking and prevent the flange connection surface from contacting the ground.
For valves that are not used in the short term, the asbestos packing should be removed to avoid electrochemical corrosion and damage to the valve stem.
Check the valves that have just entered the warehouse and wipe them clean before storing them; seal the valve inlet and outlet with wax paper or plastic sheets to prevent dirt from entering.
For valve processing surfaces that can rust in the atmosphere, apply anti-rust oil, and valves placed outdoors must be covered with rainproof and dustproof items such as tarpaulin or tarpaulin.
‌Use and Maintenance‌:

The valve stem thread often rubs against the valve stem nut, so apply a little yellow dry oil, molybdenum disulfide or graphite powder for lubrication.

For valves that are not frequently opened and closed, the handwheel should be turned regularly to add lubricant to the valve stem thread to prevent biting.

For outdoor valves, a protective cover should be added to the valve stem to prevent rain, snow, dust and rust.

If the valve is mechanically driven, lubricant should be added to the gearbox on time.

Always keep the valve clean, check and maintain the integrity of the valve parts.

‌Packing Maintenance‌:

Packing is a key component for sealing when the valve is switched. If the packing fails, it will cause leakage. Strengthening maintenance can extend the life of the packing.

After the valve is installed in the pipeline, due to factors such as temperature, external leakage may occur. Tighten the nuts on both sides of the packing gland in time, and do not tighten them all at once.
